Hi, I'm Lisa Walker, and welcome to my blog! I am a certified Speech-Language Pathologist and Accent Reduction Coach. In addition to providing traditional speech therapy services, I also offer an Accent Reduction Program to help people who speak English as a Second Language or with Regional American Accents speak English more clearly and confidently. I offer several online formats for my Accent Reduction Program, including one-on-one, group, and Instructor Guided Self-Study options. In this blog, I would like to tell you how the Self-Study Program works.
What is included in the Self-Study?
In my Self-Study course, you will receive a set of 23 Lessons from the Compton-Pronouncing English as a Second Language (P-ESL) program created for speakers of your native language, one introductory online session with me, and 10 weeks of my feedback via email. Email instruction will include supplemental recordings and tips for improving sound production and certain features of the language. The online practice platform allows you to listen to native English speakers and record your own voice imitating their words and sentences. You will be able to immediately listen to your recordings right beside the native speaker to monitor your own progress. As your teacher, I will be able to hear your recordings too. That is how I will know how your progress is going.
If after 10 weeks you are still working on the program and need my help, it will only be $25 a week for my continued support. If you need additional one-on-one training, I am available to see you through online video conferencing as needed.
